We all relate to the predicament of needing just a tablespoon of tomato paste for a dish and being forced to open an entire can. A tube of tomato paste is an option but it’s incredibly expensive compared to the can.

After using the necessary tablespoon, the remaining paste either goes bad tucked away at the back of the fridge or gets stuck frozen solid in the freezer, requiring some chiseling to draw enough out for your next recipe. However, a more efficient alternative would be to freeze it in tablespoon-sized portions using silicone trays or freezer bags.

Eventually, the tomato paste has to be used. Luckily, we’ve compiled 13 recipes that require up to 3 tablespoons of tomato paste. This provides a range of dishes to utilize the concentrated tomato paste so it doesn’t go through waste.
