30,000 Pounds of CHOMPS Meat Sticks Recalled for Metal Contamination Risk
On March 20, Idaho Smokehouse Partners, LLC, issued a recall for nearly 30,000 pounds of CHOMPS ready-to-eat beef and turkey stick products due to potential metal contamination, as reported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. The recall followed consumer reports of metal fragments found in two flavor varieties.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. CHOMPS announced, “This internal recall was a precaution, prioritizing consumer safety above all.”
The affected products were processed between January 16, 2025, and January 23, 2025.

The voluntary recall by Great Lakes Cheese Co. on February 15 followed concerns over stainless steel fragments in the cheese.
