On August 16, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported that Perdue Foods LLC has voluntarily recalled around 167,171 pounds of chicken breast and chicken tender products due to potential contamination with metal fragments. This issue was identified after customers reported finding metal wires in their chicken products. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or illnesses related to this recall.
The affected chicken products were frozen, produced on March 3, 2024, marked with establishment number P-33944, and have a best-by date of March 23, 2025, visible on the package. These items were distributed to retail stores nationwide and also available for purchase online.

What To Do If You Have the Recalled Products at Home
The USDA advises consumers to check their freezers for any of the listed recalled products. If you find any, do not eat them. Instead, dispose of them safely or return them to the retailer for a full refund.
